Relacja psychologii i humanistyki — ujęcie Floriana Znanieckiego i Jerzego Kmity

Arleta Chojniak

Abstract

The main concern of this paper is the relation between psychology and human sciences. In the first part, the conception is presented of the humanistic coefficient as proposed by Florian Znaniecki, which allowed him to state that psychology transformed into a natural science. In the second one, Jerzy Kmita’s explication of the humanistic coefficient is analyzed. In this context, Kmita formulates some conditions that psychology should meet for being a human science. The main one is the logical norm proposed by Alfred Tarsky: to differentiate between the object language and the meta-language.
In conclusion, I critically refer to Kmita’s conception and indicate some approaches in psychology which — in my opinion — represent, and belong to, humanities.
