Edward Stachura’s Fabula Rasa as a Literary Indication on the Source Understanding of Being

Krzysztof Kiedrowski

Abstract

The present paper is an attempt to interpret Edward Stachura’s Fabula Rasa. The term ‘being’ is considered in the paper as the most important in this book. It is elucidated by Stachura at three consecutive stages. These stages of the “understanding of being” are related to three descriptions of a subject: “I-man,” “no-man” and “No- man.” They are the way of self-cognition, whose end cannot, however, be adequately and conceptually expressed.
