Abstrakt

This article concerns the understanding of two important concepts used by researchers in memory studies: lieux de mémoire (sites of memory) and carriers (storages) of memory. The author believes that these terms should not be used interchangeably. He also presents suggestions for their understanding and indicates the areas of research which they confront.
