Pojęcie majestatu w społeczeństwie staropolskim. Próba analizy historyczno-politologicznej

Abstrakt

The article shows the modern political thought of the Polish people worded in the concept of majesty. This terminus was introduced as the element of the Polish political culture to specify groups and social ideas, because of which it became a political science category, too. The text presents the modern perception of the national majesty in its three guises: that of the royal majesty, the nobility’s majesty and the majesty of the Republic. It allows to understand the specificity of the Polish modern national culture what is pivotal for carrying out quality researches. This article shows also that the subject-matter of the political science has not been specified nor circumscribed yet and that there are some phenomena still functioning in the political sphere which should be thoroughly analyzed.
