Abstrakt

The author pushes the visual, revealing metaphors to the extreme and presents the crisis of the sight-centered (ocular-centric) culture based on the visual pleasure. Thanks to the disclosure of the crisis of representation, the author managed to dispose of the category of sight and turn to the Lacanian category of gaze, which brings with itself a different kind of pleasure — the unpleasant one (jouissance).
