Abstrakt

Birgitta of Sweden is regarded as an important personality in late Scandinavian Middle Ages. Her work Revelations was an undeniable contribution to Swedish and European literature of her time. The article discusses the character of Birgitta’s mystical experience, as well as its influence on her actions and conduct. Scandinavian specificity of the great Swede’s doings has also been emphasized in the text.
