The initial problem of article The English Patient as a postmodern reinterpretation of Herodotus Histories is possibility of using a literature as a source for historical research. The goal of article is to present Michael Ondaatje novel as a unique and valuable text for historians. Article is also a try of analysis and interpretation of The English Patient as an example of modernizing Herodotus Histories. Important element of the article is a characteristic of discussed book as a postmodern and
postcolonial novel.
